Danish hip-hop grime sensation Lucy Love

Via Zambia, London and the King’s Copenhagen comes the rap sensation Lucy Love to G!.

Her father was a DJ, she wears neon-coloured hijab and it’s because of her that a big part of the Danish music industry is on fire.

Her real name is Lucy Siame, and she was born in Zambia, were her father is from. Her mother is British.

Lucy grew up in Denmark. Her international background is shines trough her music and her personal style.

Shortly after the release of her album “Superbillion” Lucy had Danes kissing her feet, and her music has been expanding beyond the borders of Denmark ever since.

The critics agree that “Superbillion” was one of the best Danish albums last year, and because of hits like “No V.I.P and “Daddy Was A DJ” that have been played constantly on the radio, she has won the heart of the public.

Last January Lucy Love won the* “*P3 Experimentet award” for renewing rap and hip-hop in Denmark.

Lucy Love mostly gets her inspiration from the grime-genre, which has taken over the British rap scene the last couple of years. Grime was originally developed among the deprived homeless in the poorest parts of London, where men like Dizzy Rascal, Wiley and Tinchy Stryder were rapping about their daily struggles via illegal radio stations.

Grime mixes house, drum n bass and Caribbean rhythms into one odd and edgy whole, which is recognized by the low bass and simple, but persisting riffs. The mood is harsh, extreme, and comical.

Lucy Love has got quite a reputation as a performer. On stage everything comes together in a higher unit, in which music, fashion, and dance and beats mix with the audience that are standing in sweaty and swaying crowds. Everything is exceptionally well planned. Lucy Love is a perfectly oiled engine on the stage, ready to kick ass on G!
