Eivör grew up in G! hometown Göta. All her life Eivör has felt the urge to create and perform. At the age of fifteen the young hopeful girl left school in order to dedicate all of her time to what she loved doing – writing music.
Much has changed since then. Eleven years on, five solo albums and numerous awards later, she is now a mature and experienced artist, and has become one of the brightest stars on the North Atlantic horizon. She has amazed and astonished audiences across the world with her extraordinary music and charisma.
However in essence Eivör is still the same Eivör; driven by her passion for music, she is deeply rooted in her homeland’s strong heritage. What makes her so special is not just her inspiring and breathtaking voice, but the fact that she is an all-round artist – a painter, storyteller, poet and composer. All this creative energy combines into a spellbinding and remarkable expression on stage, which has the ability to touch the innermost and unexplored emotions in its audiences.
Already an icon for Faroese music Eivör is stepping on to new grounds musically with her upcoming album, produced by former band mate in influential rock band Clickhaze and brain behind Orka, Jens L Thomsen. Her new album will be released on Copenhagen Records and features a more electronic, rocky and gritty sound. Her new band also includes two of her former band mates from Clickhaze, Mikael Blak and Högni Lisberg.
Enjoy her concert on home turf Faroese soil in her hometown of Göta at G! Festival in July.
